Throughout the duration of the Black Behind Bars exhibit, we’ll host a series of events designed to celebrate Black biker culture, engage the community, and raise awareness of the exhibit’s message. Each event is an opportunity to experience the power of storytelling, community, and the open road.

A free public opening celebration of Black Behind Bars at the Harvey B. Gantt Center in Charlotte, NC. Take a tour of the exhibit and hear from Alvin C. Jacobs, Jr. and curators, Dr. Keith Cradle and Ricky Singh.

Bike Rally

The city of Charlotte will host a full-day Bike Rally in support of the exhibit. The event will include a bike show, local vendors, family-friendly activities, and more.

Panel Series

A series of discussions with Black biker influencers, authors, and cultural experts. These panels will explore the impact of Black bikers on motorcycle culture and the broader cultural landscape.

A day of community engagement in the park, where Black bikers from across the Southeast will gather to showcase their bikes, share stories, and connect with families and friends.
